Install Fy2Press in WordPress
Install the free plugin from the WordPress plugin directory, activate it and open its Home screen before you connect a store.
Documentation for Fy2Press 1.0.0. The free plugin is available on WordPress.org. PRO is sold separately through Freemius, our licensing and payment provider.
In three steps
- Install Fy2Press Catalog for Shopify from Plugins → Add Plugin.
- Activate it and open the Fy2Press Home screen.
- Continue with the Shopify connection guide.
This guide describes Fy2Press 1.0.0. Screens can change in later versions, so check the version shown on the Plugins screen before you follow it.
Expected result
Fy2Press is installed from the WordPress plugin directory, activated and its Home screen is open, ready for the Shopify connection. A Disconnected status is normal at this point.
Install the free plugin from the WordPress plugin directory, activate it and open its Home screen before you connect a store.
Before you begin
- An administrator account allowed to install plugins on your WordPress site.
- WordPress 6.5 or later and PHP 8.1 or later.
- An existing Shopify store; its subscription is separate from Fy2Press.
- A recent backup when you change a live website.
Plan a way back before you start: a backup or a staging copy, the Shopify product you will compare with, and the WordPress page that should show the result. Start with a small test that you can repeat.
What this covers
This guide covers the free plugin published on WordPress.org. The FREE edition needs no paid license and no WooCommerce. PRO is a separate paid edition delivered after purchase; installing FREE does not unlock PRO features.
Remember who does what: Shopify keeps products, inventory, orders, payments and checkout; Fy2Press brings the catalog into WordPress and displays it; WordPress hosts your pages and editorial content. Nothing in this guide moves orders, customers or payments to WordPress.
Steps
- In WordPress, open Plugins → Add Plugin (Add New Plugin in some earlier WordPress versions).
- Search for Fy2Press, find Fy2Press Catalog for Shopify by Pagup, then choose Install Now and Activate.
- If you prefer a file, download the ZIP from wordpress.org/plugins/fy2press and use Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin.
- Open Fy2Press in the administration menu. On the first visit, an optional Freemius screen offers Allow & Continue or Skip; skipping does not limit the FREE features.
- Check that the Home screen shows the Home, Products, Design, Add to my pages, Google and SEO, and Help tabs.
Review the result before you share a page publicly. A success message is a good sign, but the public page and the Shopify buying path must agree too.
Check the result
- Fy2Press is listed as active on the Plugins screen, with version 1.0.0.
- The Fy2Press Home screen opens without an error message.
- The status shows Disconnected until you complete the connection guide.
Check the result where visitors will see it: open the public WordPress page, not only the Fy2Press screen, and compare a representative product with Shopify, including its price, availability, variants and collection. Repeat a small change once to confirm that the behaviour is stable.
Common problems
- You do not see Add Plugin: your account or hosting plan may not allow plugin installation, so ask the site administrator or your host.
- WordPress refuses the ZIP: use the official ZIP from WordPress.org, not a source archive from GitHub or a PRO archive.
- An error appears on activation: note the message and the WordPress and PHP versions, then check the minimum versions before you try again.
When something unexpected happens, stop large operations and try again with one product and one page. Keep the exact error message before you change settings or clear caches.
Troubleshooting
- Confirm the plugin version and edition (FREE or PRO).
- Reproduce the problem with one test product.
- Decide whether the issue comes from Shopify, Fy2Press or your WordPress theme.
- Compare the result with what your edition includes, as described in the edition guide.
- Restore your test setup, try once more and note whether the result repeats.
Security and data
Install the free plugin only from WordPress.org, and PRO only from your Freemius account. Keep administrator access limited to trusted people, and never paste passwords or tokens into a support message.
If you ask for help, note the plugin version, the WordPress and PHP versions, your theme or page builder, the page address and the steps you followed. Use test products, and remove tokens, customer data, order details and private addresses from screenshots before sharing them.
Effect on search
Installing the plugin publishes nothing by itself. Product pages appear only after synchronization, so you can decide on visibility and indexing first.

Keep the system boundary visible
Shopify remains the commerce source; Fy2Press moves catalog records and rendering contracts; WordPress owns publication.

Verify before moving on
- Confirm the result in WordPress, not only in the Fy2Press interface.
- Keep cart and checkout on Shopify.
